A Scooter in 1/48!

GinothePhantom's picture

Hi guys! It's done! Finally! Here's the Hobby World 1/48 A-4E, otherwise known as a reboxed 1/50 Fujimi A-4E. Finished in Gunze acrylics, a future gloss coat, Aeromaster decals (old set) and a Humbrol flat coat. From VA-209 "Air Barons", circa 1971.

The kit isn't perfect; some fit issues, especially in the leading edge/wing roots, were the guns are supposed to be. I didn't bother fixing it anymore, but I will get some brass tubing to do guns (on the next trip to the hobby shop). There were some odd panel lines all over (see the nose?) which I didn't bother fixing. Also the decals didn't sit too well on the tail (old stock); but all in all I did what I set out to do: a fun build just for the heck of it! Loved making it, now we've move on! Love em and leave em, I always say!

Well as you may be able to see I can add more than one image, but there
are some restrictions at the moment so to keep the site going and
minimise abuse, and I am still not happy with the way in which Image
addition is working err well sort of working.

We will figure out some way of doing it soon, its great to see people
adding content .. keep up the good work I will do what I can to make
that easier for you .

regards

Sean.

Helping the guys out

Gidday Gino, I was hoping to see your A4 but as I discussed with Chris and Dom the other day the site only allows for one pic at a time.  Since you have logged 4 images, they can't be downloaded and viewed.  At this stage you may have to edit this post and reduce the number of pics.Emotions

Out of curiosity what's the F/A-18G like to build and what did you have to do to get if back to F specs?  May have to get one to do a RAAF 'what if'

 Regards

 Andrew
