Bell X-1 Aircraft
The Bell X-1 was the world’s first supersonic aircraft that used a rocket engine for power, commissioned by US Army Airforce, US Air Force & US National Aeronautics Committee and produced by Bell Aircraft.
The aircraft was built in 1945 and it was the first manned aircraft and first rocket plane using which Captain Charles Yeager broke the sound barrier and reached Mach 1.07 on October 14, 1947.
