About Airfix Models
Fun Fact: The name ‘Airfix’ originated from the process of fixating air into its models or products!
Airfix has been a major player in the industry since 1952 and is actually now the oldest manufacturer of toy models in the United Kingdom (UK).
In its early beginnings, Airfix started off selling inflatable rubber toys and plastic hair combs (after the Second World War). It was only until Airfix was approached by Harry Ferguson (the tractor manufacturer) that they began producing tractor model kits - which was a huge success.
Over the years, Airfix expanded to supply even more toys and models including engines, motorcycles, Airfix model car kits (modern to vintage), ships, spaceships, as well as accessories and among many others tools.
